RTH can be aptly described as the “salad bowl” of Mission Hill—a vibrant community where diverse cultures and identities are preserved while continually uniting to celebrate one another.

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the RTH community gathered to honor Black History and Black culture. The event was filled with entertainment and enjoyment, featuring the musical selections of Minister Diane Pettway, the graceful performances of the Jo-Me Dance Company, and an energetic Sabar drum and dance production by Senegalese performers. Attendees also had the opportunity to win raffle prizes, including items crafted by Black entrepreneurs or related to Black culture.

Guests savored delicious, authentic food from Slade’s, a Black-owned restaurant. The celebration culminated with a fashion show, where staff and residents showcased authentic clothing from various West African countries, followed by a talent show featuring RTH residents. The event was a powerful expression of culture, community, and creativity.
