Red Sox Community Relations @ RTH
On April 27, the Rebuilding Together Boston and the Red Sox Community Relations team spent the day at RTH supporting a series of beautification projects across our campus. Their efforts included redecorating the Teen Center and After School Program, as well as revitalizing the Levinson Plaza and Kempton Street gardens.
The visit was made even more special with appearances by Red Sox players Jarren Duran and Tanner Houck, along with Wally the Green Monster.
It was an energizing and collaborative day for both the Red Sox team and RTH staff, as they worked side by side to enhance the space and create a more welcoming and engaging environment for youth in the Teen Center.
Changes orchestrated by the Red Sox Community Relations and Rebuilding Together Boston teams included:
Teen Center
- New paint on the main room, teen lounge and TV room
- New couches, beanbag chairs, rugs
- Mural / stencil (Be United)
- Assemble bookcases
- Provided age-appropriate books
- Corkboards for photo display
- LED Red Sox signs
- Accessories for the computer room
After School Program
- New paint in the multi-purpose room
- Assembled Adult and Youth furniture
- Assembled bookcases
- Provided age-appropriate books
- Created a reading corner
Gardens
- Weeded / cleaned grounds
- Assembled new beds
- Provided compost and plants
