The Health & Wellness team at RTH wants to help you approach your own health and wellness in a dynamic way. We believe in a holistic approach to health, and offer services and programs to aid in improving your social, physical, spiritual, and emotional health. Our goal is to create a healthier community by developing customized approaches for our residents. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellness, and we want to help you figure out what health means to you.

Welcome to the Health & Wellness Department here at RTH! We know that health is not limited to physical health, so we’ve worked hard to bring you a diverse selection of programs and events designed to meet needs in all areas of your life. We offer programs such as group exercise, allowing you to build both physical health and social health, as well as personal training, yoga, swim classes, strength and conditioning, and massage therapy, to name a few. In addition, we offer child development and parenting seminars, nutrition and meal planning, preparation for high school and college athletics, and exercise adapted for individuals with specific needs.

We want to move our entire community forward, one workout at a time.

Additional Services

Fitness: Join us for one of our many fitness classes! We have something for everyone, including personal training, wheelchair exercise, senior fitness classes, high school and college athletics preparation, and more. In addition, our trainers offer adaptations to allow everyone to participate. No matter what age or level of fitness you’re at, we have something for you.

Behavioral Health: We offer a variety of programs, not only to help you grow and develop into a healthier you, but also to help you live your life more easily. For example, we offer an inclusivity program where we can help you better understand, communicate, represent, and respect others of all races, cultures, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and abilities. We also offer a program which teaches our youth how to safely interact with law enforcement, including education on their rights and responsibilities within the law. Not to mention, we host a wide range of programs on financial literacy, parenting, skill development, and more.

Accessibility: Our buildings have elevators, ramps, automatic doors. In addition, our gyms offer equipment specifically designed to accommodate wheelchair users. We provide access to physical therapists, and welcome nurses, aides, personal trainers, and health professionals to come assist you with the use of our facilities. In addition, our fitness classes are designed to accommodate people at all levels, and if you need additional accommodation, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

Certification: All the fitness professionals on our team have national certification from the American College of Sports Medicine, the International Sports Sciences Association, and/or Silver Sneakers.

InBody 570 Body Composition Analyzer: The InBody scale is a machine that measures body composition such as muscle mass, and fat mass, through bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). At RTH we will be able to record and monitor our cilent’s fitness journey and help us create better programs that fits their needs. The InBody can help users understand what their weight is made up of. They will be able to see how their weight is broken down into muscle, fat, bone, and body water. Zachary McCulloch is the Health and Wellness Director at Roxbury Tenants of Harvard. He holds a B.S in Exercise Science and has been working in the fitness industry for over a decade. Prior to working at Roxbury Tenants, his experience has expanded to working within Fitness Departments at Universities, Wellness Center Management of Senior Assisted Living homes, and serving as Health and Wellness Director of another non-profit organization.
